The principle
Two things make up what you pay: our work, and money we pass to a government or third party on your behalf. Our work is refundable until we have done it. Money already paid to a government is not, because we cannot get it back either.
We would rather explain that clearly up front than bury it in a clause.
Before we file — full refund of our fee
If you cancel before we have submitted anything to a government authority, we refund our service fee in full. Any government fee not yet paid is simply never charged.
Contact us as early as you can, since filings often go out within a day or two of ordering.
After we file — government fees are not recoverable
Once a filing has been submitted, the state filing fee or Companies House fee has been paid and cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. That portion is non-refundable.
Where our own work is not yet complete at the point you cancel, we refund the unearned part of our service fee on a fair pro-rata basis.
If a government rejects your filing
If a filing is rejected for a reason within our control — an error we made in preparation — we correct and re-file at our own cost. There is no additional charge to you.
If it is rejected for a reason outside our control, such as a name conflict discovered at filing or information you supplied being inaccurate, we will work with you to resolve it. Government fees charged for the second attempt are payable again, because the authority charges them again.
Banking and application-assistance services
Banking, payment gateway and similar assistance services are charged for the work of preparing and guiding your application. That work is delivered whether or not the provider approves you.
Because approval is entirely the provider’s decision and never ours, a declined application is not grounds for a refund. We tell you this before you buy, and we will tell you honestly if we think your chances are poor.
Recurring services
Annual services such as registered agent and registered office can be cancelled before the renewal date at no cost. Once a renewal has been paid on your behalf for the coming year, that period is not refundable, but you are free not to renew again.
How to request a refund
Email us with your order details and what you would like refunded. We respond to every refund request in writing with a decision and a reason, normally within a few business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
