U.K. Service

Keep your home address off the public register

Every U.K. director must file a correspondence address, and Companies House publishes it for anyone to search. A service address gives them a London address instead of your front door.

Overview

This is the single most overlooked filing in U.K. incorporation. Directors must provide a service address, and unlike the registered office it is genuinely personal — it is where regulators write to you as an individual. Companies House publishes it, free to search, permanently indexed, and once your home address has been on the register it stays in the historical record even after you change it. A service address prevents that from ever happening. We receive anything sent to you in your capacity as a director, scan it the day it arrives, and email it wherever you are.

How It Works

Simple, from start to finish

01

Choose the address

We assign your London service address and confirm which directors it should cover.

02

We file the change

The address is submitted to Companies House and replaces whatever is currently on the register.

03

Post reaches you anywhere

Official correspondence is scanned the day it arrives and emailed to you.

Questions

Good to know

What is the difference between this and a registered office?

The registered office belongs to the company; the service address belongs to you personally as a director. They are two separate entries on the register and both are public. Most founders need both, which is why our Privacy and All-Inclusive packages include the pair.

Can I use my home address instead?

You can, and it is free — but it is then published on a public database that anyone can search, including marketers and anyone with a grievance against your company. Once published it also persists in the historical record. That trade-off is the entire reason this service exists.

Does this hide my identity?

No, and be careful of anyone claiming otherwise. Your name, month and year of birth and nationality remain on the public register — that is required by U.K. law. What a service address protects is where you live, nothing more.

I already filed my home address. Can I change it?

Yes, and you should do it sooner rather than later. We file the change for you. Companies House will show the new address going forward, though the previous entry remains in the filing history — which is precisely why it is worth getting right at incorporation.

Does one service address cover several directors?

The address itself is the same, but it is charged per director because each appointment is a separate filing. Tell us how many directors you have and we will quote the total before you order.

What happens if I stop paying?

We would be receiving statutory mail for a company we no longer act for, so we notify Companies House and remind you well in advance. You would need to file a replacement address. We give plenty of warning — nothing is ever cut off without notice.
