U.S. & U.K.

A local number, wherever you actually are

A dedicated U.S. or U.K. business number for customer calls, supplier contact and the account verifications that keep asking for a local phone.

Overview

The verification problem is the one nobody warns you about. Payment providers, marketplaces and banks frequently want to send an SMS code to a number in the country where your company is registered, and a foreign mobile fails the check. A dedicated business number solves that and does useful work besides: customers see a local number rather than an international one, calls forward to whatever phone you actually carry, and your personal number stays off your website. It is a small monthly cost that removes a category of friction that is genuinely hard to work around otherwise.

Questions

Good to know

Will it work for Stripe or PayPal verification?

In most cases yes — it receives SMS like any other number. Some providers specifically reject VoIP numbers for verification, which is a policy we cannot override. Tell us which provider you are targeting and we will tell you honestly what we have seen.

Can I choose the area code?

Usually, subject to availability. Tell us which city or region you want to present and we will get as close as inventory allows.

Where do the calls ring?

Any phone you like, anywhere in the world — your mobile at home, a desk phone, or an app. Callers see a local number regardless of where you actually pick up.

Can I make outbound calls from it?

The core service is inbound calls, SMS and forwarding. Outbound calling from the number can be arranged depending on the setup — ask us before you order if that matters to you.

Do I need one if I already have a mobile?

Only if you want a local presence or need local SMS verification. If your customers are in the U.S. or U.K., or a provider keeps rejecting your foreign number, it earns its keep quickly.

What happens if I stop paying?

The number is released and cannot usually be recovered afterwards. If it is published on your website or held by a payment provider, plan the change carefully — we will warn you before renewal.
