A London address customers can see

Your registered office is a legal formality. A trading address is the one that goes on your website, your invoices and your email signature — the address customers, suppliers and payment providers actually look at.

Overview

A registered office satisfies Companies House and nothing else. Put it on your website and a supplier who searches it will find a formation agent, which is not the impression you are trying to make. A trading address is a genuine commercial address you can publish: on the site, on invoices, in your Stripe or PayPal profile, on the customs paperwork. It also handles real business post — parcels, cheques, supplier correspondence — rather than just statutory notices. For founders selling into the U.K. from abroad, it is often the difference between reading as a local business and reading as an anonymous overseas seller.

Questions

Good to know

Why not just use my registered office address?

You can, but a formation agent address is recognisable to anyone who searches it, and some payment providers treat it as a flag during review. A trading address reads as a genuine place of business because that is what it is.

Will banks and Stripe accept it?

In most cases yes — it is a real commercial address rather than a PO box, which is the distinction providers care about. We cannot guarantee any provider’s decision, and some ask for supporting documents on top. We will tell you what each one usually wants.

Can I receive parcels?

Small parcels and business post, yes. It is not a fulfilment or warehousing service, so it will not work for inventory or bulk shipments. If you are importing stock you want a 3PL, not a mail address.

How quickly does mail reach me?

Letters are scanned and emailed the same working day they arrive. Physical forwarding runs on request and is charged at cost — we do not mark up postage.

Do I need this if I already have a registered office and service address?

Only if you publish an address to customers. If you sell business-to-business, ship physical goods, or list an address on your site, it earns its keep. If you are a consultant invoicing a handful of clients, it may not.

Can I use it for VAT registration?

HMRC generally wants a genuine business address, and this qualifies. Where they ask follow-up questions about your U.K. presence, we help you answer them — that is included in our VAT registration service.
