ITIN application assistance for non-residents

An ITIN lets non-residents meet U.S. federal tax-processing requirements. We prepare your application and coordinate with a Certifying Acceptance Agent where needed.

Overview

An ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) is issued by the IRS for federal tax-processing purposes. It is not a Social Security Number, does not grant work authorization or immigration status, and does not by itself guarantee banking or payment approval.

What’s included

  • Eligibility review for your situation
  • ITIN application prepared correctly
  • Certifying Acceptance Agent coordination
  • Submission guidance & follow-up

Questions

Good to know

Is an ITIN the same as an SSN?

No. An ITIN is strictly for federal tax processing. It is not an SSN, does not authorise work, and confers no immigration status.

Do I need an ITIN to form a company?

Usually not — a company can be formed and an EIN obtained without one. An ITIN is needed for certain personal tax situations.

Do I need an ITIN to form a company or get an EIN?

No. Formation and EIN both proceed without one. An ITIN matters when you personally have a U.S. tax filing obligation, or when a provider specifically asks for individual identification.

Do I have to send my original passport?

Not with us. Originals can be sent to the IRS, but we coordinate certification through an approved route so your passport does not leave your possession. Never post an original passport on the strength of an email instruction.

How long does an ITIN take?

Usually several weeks, and longer during the U.S. filing season when the IRS is at its busiest. It is not a fast process and cannot be expedited.

Does an ITIN expire?

Yes. An ITIN not used on a federal return for three consecutive years expires, and certain older ITINs expire on a schedule. Renewal is straightforward once you know it is needed — we will tell you if yours is affected.

Is an ITIN the same as an SSN?

No. An ITIN exists purely for tax processing. It does not authorise work, does not confer immigration status, and is not a form of identification for anything beyond tax.
