Protect your brand with a trademark

Your name and logo are worth protecting. We run a clearance search and prepare and file your trademark application in the U.S. or U.K. — so your brand is yours.

Overview

A registered trademark gives you exclusive rights to your brand and a stronger hand against copycats. We search existing marks so you apply with confidence, then prepare and file your application. The trademark office makes the final decision on every registration.

Questions

Good to know

Will my trademark definitely be approved?

No — the trademark office decides every application. A clearance search improves your odds, and we prepare the application thoroughly, but approval is never guaranteed.

Can I trademark in both the U.S. and U.K.?

Yes. Trademarks are territorial, so protection in each country is a separate application. We can help with both.

Do I need a trademark if I have a registered company?

They protect different things. Company registration stops someone incorporating the same name in that jurisdiction; it does nothing to stop a competitor using your brand name commercially. Only a trademark does that.

Why search before filing?

Because application fees are not refunded when a conflicting mark already exists. A search tells you your odds before you spend, and often points to a change that makes the application viable.

How long does registration take?

Commonly the better part of a year, sometimes longer if the office raises objections or a third party opposes. It is a slow process everywhere — anyone quoting weeks is describing the filing, not the registration.

Can a non-resident own a U.S. trademark?

Yes, though applicants domiciled outside the U.S. must be represented by a licensed U.S. attorney. We coordinate that as part of the service rather than leaving you to find one.

Does a U.S. trademark protect me worldwide?

No. Trademarks are territorial. A U.S. registration covers the U.S.; protecting other markets means filing there too, whether directly or through the Madrid system. We will map out which markets are worth it.
